Domestic violence charges filed in Florida this spring against Detroit Lions safety Kalvin Pearson have been dropped.
He was arrested April 26 and charged with aggravated battery on a pregnant woman and domestic battery by strangulation, both felonies.
Pearson appeared in all 16 games and led the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in special teams tackles with 21 in 2007. The fourth-year pro signed with the Lions as a restricted free agent in March.
He still faces a misdemeanor charge of obstructing or opposing an officer without force. He's scheduled for arraignment Sept. 8.
Pearson declined comment Monday. A message was left for assistant state attorney Pam Bondi seeking comment.
