Lions sticking to guns on Roy
I know a lot of you have speculated on bringing this UT and Odessa Permian product back home. And I can understand why.
So since we've been pouring through the Larry Fitzgerald rumors here the last couple days, I thought I'd go ahead and scour the internet for more stuff on Roy Williams. And what I found is that the Lions don't seem to be budging much on the assertion that they'd rather pair Williams with Calvin Johnson and see what happens than break up the young stars and fill holes elsewhere with the bounty that comes in return. An excerpt from Nicholas Cotsonika's column in the Detroit Free Press ...
"I know the rumors are out there, but no," Rod Marinelli said. "Those two guys together, I want to see those guys where they can really impact the game."
Marinelli doesn't see a scenario where Williams is not back with the Lions?
"I don't," Marinelli said. "I'm very confident he's here. Very confident."
Williams' name, though, is certainly one to file away. If something can't get done with T.O., Williams will be a free agent next March and has stated his desire to return to Texas.
