Fun on the Fourth, in many ways
Perfect summer weather set the stage Friday for a host of Fourth of July events, from a patriotic neighborhood parade in Oak Park to picnics and badminton on Belle Isle in Detroit to the inaugural Rothbury Music Festival -- which attracted tens of thousands to tiny Rothbury in western Michigan to see acts such as Snoop Dogg and Bettye LaVette. Sunny skies and highs in the 70s kicked off a holiday weekend that promises to stay pleasant. Today, highs are expected in the 80s with mostly sunny skies.
