Lions' exhibition games move to Channel 62
The NFL will release the full regular-season schedule today, but the Lions already have a new contract to televise their four exhibition games.
The Lions have signed a three-year contract to have their exhibition games on WWJ-TV Channel 62, a CBS affiliate in Metro Detroit. In previous seasons, the Lions' games were on WKBD Channel 50.
"This is a bigger platform for us," Tom Lewand, the Lions' chief operating officer, said Monday of the deal with Channel 62. "It gives us a chance to build our ratings."
The exact dates of the exhibition games have not been determined. The Lions play the Colts and Browns at home and the Bengals and Bills on the road.
