Calvin Johnson not named a starter ... yet
Has wide receiver Calvin Johnson, the second overall pick in this year's draft, earned a starting job?
"At this point, no," Marinelli said. "He's not, yet. And so we're going to make these guys continue to work to earn. He's got everything we want. He's going to be something else."
Marinelli pointed out that linebacker Ernie Sims, the ninth overall pick last year, didn't earn a starting job until the last week of the exhibition season last year.
"I think when it's all said and done you become a better player when you go fight for that job," Marinelli said. "When it's started to be handed to you too early, too easy, then I don't know if guys really appreciate it."
