Calvin Johnson was born on September 25, 1985 in Tyrone, Georgia. Calvin Johnson is an American football player for the Georgia Institute of Technology. Calvin Johnson played his first season for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in 2004 as a wide receiver.

Calvin Johnson was also rated the No. 3 player in Georgia, No. 12 in the Southeast and No. 37 in the nation by Rivals.com, the No. 7 wide receiver in the nation by SuperPrep. Calvin Johnson was at the First-team all-state selection (Class AAAA) by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Finally, Calvin Johnson was tabbed to the AJC's preseason Super 11. Calvin Johnson was SI.com's Midseason NFL Draft Projection #1 pick.

Calvin Johnson caught 40 passes for 736 yards and eight touchdowns as a senior at Sandy Creek High School. Calvin Johnson, the star receiver added 34 receptions for 646 yards and 10 scores as a junior for two-year totals of 80 catches, 1,479 yards and 18 touchdowns.

Calvin Johnson has a rare combination of size ( foot-5, 235 pounds), speed (4.32), strength, leaping ability (47" vertical), body control and hand-eye coordination.

In Calvin Johnson Yellow Jacket career, Calvin Johnson has made a name for himself among Georgia Tech receivers in history. Calvin Johnson has 151 receptions in his career, good for 2,520 yards and 24 touchdowns. Calvin Johnson ranks third in school history in career receiving yards, fifth in receptions and tied for first in touchdown receptions, and with his 168-yd performance against North Carolina State, Calvin Johnson now has the recod for most career 100-yard receiving games with 11. During the 2006 summer, Calvin Johnson (a Management major) was given the option of working on either constructing environmentally friendly luxury condos, or a project building solar latrines to improve sanitation in Bolivia. Johnson chose the latter, as he wanted to help the less fortunate. Calvin Johnson plans to travel to Bolivia in January 2007 as part of the project.

Made a diving, 10-yard catch in the end zone for Tech's first touchdown . . .
